Government Affairs
Our Principles
The Master Builders Association of Pierce County (MBAPC) is an active leader in the policy and regulatory landscape at both the local and state levels. Our advocacy efforts are led by the Legislative Strategy Committee (LSC), and executed by the Government Affairs team to champion the following core resolutions:
- Reducing Barriers: Eliminating the regulatory and financial hurdles that impede housing development and affordability.
- Smart Growth & Land Use: Promoting sustainable growth while advocating for the better use of the Urban Growth Area (UGA) and available buildable lands.
- Fiscal Transparency: Demanding government accountability in the calculation and distribution of permit, impact, and connection fees.
- Operational Excellence: Partnering with Pierce County jurisdictions to ensure high service standards and the predictable, timely issuance of permits.
